Housing sales across Turkey increased by 14.9% in October compared to the same month of the previous year and became 137 thousand 401. Istanbul had the highest share in house sales with 26 thousand 41 houses and 19.0%. According to the number of sales, Istanbul was followed by Ankara with 13 thousand 466 house sales and 9.8% share, and İzmir with 8 thousand 218 house sales and 6.0% share. The provinces with the lowest number of house sales were Hakkari with 22 houses, Ardahan with 45 houses and Bayburt with 84 houses, respectively.

Mortgaged house sales across Turkey increased by 9.7% in October compared to the same month of the previous year and became 28 thousand 49. The share of mortgaged sales in total house sales was 20.4%. Mortgaged house sales in the January-October period, on the other hand, decreased by 60.7% compared to the same period of the previous year and became 209 thousand 904.
As a result of other sales types, 109 thousand 352 houses changed hands.
Other house sales across Turkey increased by 16.3% in October compared to the same month of the previous year and became 109 thousand 352. The share of other sales in total house sales was 79.6%. Other house sales in the January-October period, on the other hand, increased by 17.4% compared to the same period of the previous year and became 876 thousand 635.
The number of first-hand housing sales was 41 thousand 914.

Second-hand house sales across Turkey increased by 15.6% in October compared to the same month of the previous year and became 95 thousand 487. The share of second-hand house sales in total house sales was 69.5%. Second-hand house sales decreased by 14.4% in the January-October period compared to the same period of the previous year and amounted to 757 thousand 469.
5 thousand 893 houses were sold to foreigners in October
Housing sales to foreigners increased by 12.1% in October compared to the same month of the previous year and became 5 thousand 893. The share of house sales to foreigners in total house sales was 4.3%. Istanbul took the first place in house sales to foreigners with the sale of 2,464 houses. Antalya was followed by Antalya with 1,385 house sales and Ankara with 359 house sales, respectively.
According to the nationality of the country, the most house sales were made to Iranian citizens.
In October, Iranian citizens bought 1,265 houses from Turkey. The citizens of Iran were followed by the citizens of Iraq with 926 residences and the citizens of the Russian Federation with 543 residences, respectively.
