23.6% of foreign investment in Turkey was made for the right of citizenship

23.6% of real estate investments made in Turkey constituted citizenship acquisition. In the same period of the previous year, this rate was 23.7%. While Istanbul, Antalya and Ankara were in the top three in foreign investment for citizenship acquisition throughout the country, Esenyurt, Beylikdüzü and Başakşehir were also in the top three in foreign investments in Megakent Istanbul.

As of the first nine months of 2021, he examined the real estate investments made by foreigners in Turkey for citizenship acquisition . It was determined that 23.6 percent of 44 thousand 658 real estate investments made in Turkey in the first nine months of 2021 were for citizenship acquisition. It was determined that while the real estates purchased by foreigners for the acquisition of citizenship were 10 thousand 518, 81.3% of the real estates acquired for citizenship were acquired from Istanbul. 

Top three Iran, Iraq and Afghanistan by country

According to the investments made by foreigners in Turkey for the acquisition of citizenship on the basis of all real estate types in the first nine months of 2021, Iran ranked first on a country basis. Iran was followed by Iraq, Afghanistan, Yemen, China, Palestine, Egypt, Jordan, Pakistan and the Russian Federation. 

Istanbul is in the first place 

As of the first nine months of 2021, Istanbul was the province most preferred by foreigners for citizenship acquisition on the basis of all real estate types. Antalya, Ankara, Mersin, Yalova, Bursa, İzmir, Muğla, Samsun and Kocaeli followed respectively. 

39.39 percent of investments in Istanbul are for citizenship acquisition 

Foreign real estate investment in Megakent Istanbul, on the other hand, amounted to 21 thousand 410 as of the first nine months of 2021. It was determined that 39.39 percent of this investment consisted of real estate acquired for citizenship application. In the first nine months of 2021, Iran took the first place in investments in Istanbul for foreigners to acquire citizenship on the basis of all real estate. This country was followed by Iraq, Afghanistan, Yemen, China, Palestine, Egypt, Jordan, Pakistan and the Russian Federation. In the same period, Esenyurt, Beylikdüzü and Başakşehir districts were among the top three in real estate investment preferences in Istanbul for foreigners to acquire citizenship. These districts were followed by Bağcılar, Avcılar, Küçükçekmece, Büyükçekmece, Kağıthane, Zeytinburnu and Fatih, respectively.
